Try to sit on one side of the individual who is receiving your massage. Then, place one hand on top of the other and thrust into the back a little bit with just your fingers. Begin at the spine and push steadily while moving your hands away from the spine and across the back then lightly move your hands back across the back toward the spinal column. Do this step again as you move upward along the person's back and then do it again on the other side of the person's back.
Work the backbone. Starting out with the base of the back, work your way up each of the sausage like sinews on either side of the spine by rubbing in little circles with a couple of fingers or your thumbs. Work up a little friction in each node by rubbing each one at least five times. Massage your way all the way up one side of the spine and then repeat the process on the other side of the spine.
This means that after you're done with one technique, go back to the basic rub that you used at the beginning of the massage for a couple of minutes.
