polymerase chain reaction

There in an alternative name for Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction in the field of molecular biology and it is quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction. This is a technique in PCR which is used to quantify and amplify a targeted molecule of DNA.

The basic principle of this is Polymerase Chain Reaction and its main feature is that it amplifies DNA and gives the detail of the reaction going on in DNA at that present time. Most commonly there are two methods of detection. They are as follows: 1) non-specific fluorescent dyes method 2) sequence-specific DNA probe method.

There are many applications of Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction. They are as below:
(1) They are used for diagnosis of dangerous diseases like cancer, genetic abnormalities, and many more.
(2) These reactions are also very much useful for research work. This type of reactions gives you information about genetic expression at different time intervals.
(3) Thus Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction is useful for both research and diagnosis work.
Thus Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction is very much complicated and it is very costly also. So it is not possible for any layman to go through it. Thus these types of reactions are very much useful in the field of science.
